The Missouri Junior Golf Association was established to work diligently to provide the
best opportunity for junior golfers regardless of the state of residence. The Missouri Junior
Golf Association is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
The Mission of the
Missouri Junior Golf Association is to offer the opportunity to junior golfers to participate in organized golf competitions
or golf related events with other youths their age and skill level. An emphasis is placed on the benefits
to life, society, and community that can be derived through the Respect, Integrity Character and Honesty of participating
in a sport where each individual player is responsible for playing under the rules of golf and fair play.
One of our goals is
to develop character through the structure of the rules of the game of golf. An example of how golf builds
character is that it is the only sport where participants call penalties on themselves. Golf teaches life
skills like patience, good sportsmanship, and the ability to focus on the task at hand. We hope that we
are exposing our youths to a leisure activity that they can enjoy, no matter what their ability level might be for the rest
of their lives.
Membership is open to all junior golfers from ages 11 to up to the first semester of
college. A member will be required to submit a tournament entry form and an appropriate entry fee
for each tournament. Entries for each tournament may be limited and members will be notified if their entry
has been accepted. A member must have a valid e-mail address and be able to obtain all information from
our website.
